Issues at Hand
Before the death of my father who was the second child of Faderera, further in November 1985 the Wanikin farm was being managed by his sister Mrs. Folashade Ojutalayo and Adepeju Ademiluyi because my father was a civil servant he was indisposed (worked in Abeokuta, Ibadan and Ilesa).
He retired in 1983 and the Agbedegbede house handed the Kosere farmland to my late father Akanbi.
Because of ill-health Akanbi took Mrs. Olusola Ibidapo Obe his niece (daughter of folashade) to kosere and handed part of the farmland to her to cultivate corn. Also he took Bankole ojutalayo to wanikin and gave him Egan land in Wanikin also to cultivate corn. Akanbi was hospitalized and did not recover till death came in November 1985.
Since then the two farm has been in the hand of Folashade Ojutalayo and her children.
Folashade Ojutalayo died in year 2000 leaving the two said farmland in the hand of her two children Kole and Gbonju.
Two years ago in August year 2012, I complained to my late uncle Ilaro Adebisi Pedro that I wasn’t happy with the style the family estate is being run, how can the whole farm be in the hand of Kole and his sister Gbonju what is the fate of we other children if he (uncle Bisi) and uncle Biodun are resident in the UK. He should give instruction to Kole to release my fathers portion of the farm to me if others don’t need their own I want my father’s portion.
Then uncle Bisi Pedro told me that Kole has written him asking for approved to borrow Kosere farm for fish farming and the he expect kole Ojutalayo to have liase with us at home concerning the farm, that after much pressure on him by Kole Ojulatayo and Kole’s wife (Biodun) disturbing him seriously he had to sign the documents for them.
He promised to ask Kole to share the farmland to those of us in Nigeria since he does not have plan to come home.
The next thing I heard about Uncle Bisi was the news of his death.
Again I approached Uncle Clement Biodun also resident in the UK. As he too was planning to take step he fell ill.
I now make enquiry about the land. They now told me that Kole Ojutalayo ti gbese le awon ile yen. Nitori eyi mo fe ki gbogbo omo ologbenla both at home and in diaspora da si oro yi.
Papa ti o njo leba oko baba yi ti a koba tete fi omi paa o lee jo oko baba.
Mogbonjubola Adeniji is only one controlling Wanikin farm and is not giving us the children of their mothers sibling nothing.
Kole ojutalayo after our uncle Adebisi Pedro signed for him to use Kosere farm for fish business so that the land will not lie fallow. Se lo gbese lee ooo
